April 9 – Roses
Arrival in Roses at the indicated point. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and lodging. OPTIONAL; arrival by AVE to Figueres and transfers to the hotel for dinner and lodging.
Day 10 of April – Portbou – Llança
Technical details: 10, 70 km – Slopes + 462 / -490 4h45 ‘
After breakfast at the indicated time one private transport will take us to Llançà. We will cross the Sierra de l’Albera with spectacular views of the Costa Brava, visit the town of Colera and then step on Platja de Garbet that approaches Cap Ras, and finally head towards Llançà. In the course of our hike we will have enjoyed some lovely coves. Arriving in Llançà, we will begin our gastronomic route, an essential experience of the trip. Today we will have the opportunity to eat a Fish Suquet. At the end we will make a short tour of the village of Llançà where we will see a homemade liqueur distillery where we will find 16 different types, all made with herbs and flowers from the Empordà. We will enjoy a tasting and we can buy. At the end of the transport you will take us to the hotel of Roses for dinner and accommodation.
April 11 – Port de la Selva – Cadaqués
Technical details: 12 km – Slopes + 480 / -475 5h30 ‘
After breakfast at indicated time a private transport will take us to the Port de la Selva. Joining two as iconic villages as El Port de la Selva and Cadaqués through a route through the heart of the mountains of the Parc de Creus Natural Park is an experience to remember. Passing the Bufadors peak, we will have a front perspective of Cadaqués, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in the world. When we arrive, we will have the opportunity to have lunch at one of the DO Empordà wineries. In the afternoon we will pay a visit to the winery with a wine tasting. Then we will return to Roses for dinner and accommodation.
April 12 – L’Escala – Bunkers L6
Technical data: 11 km – Slopes + 450 / -450 5h
We will begin the route from Cala Illa Mateua, bordering the coast, passing through Punta Grossa, Cala Montgó and enjoying the Natural Park of Montgrí. Above all, it is a route with an incredible historical load, where we can enter the battery of Bunkers built by the Francoist government in the time of World War II. Also, remains of pirates, feudal lords, Romans, smugglers and hideouts with 2,000 years of history very close to you. Then we will continue with our particular gastronomic route. At the end we propose a very special visit to Empúries to immerse ourselves in ancient times through the technology of virtual reality. An itinerary through the Greek and Roman cities, stopping to visit the 3D audiovisual of the crypto-portico of the domus of the mosaics. The highlight of the visit are the public spaces; the forum of the Roman city and the Greek agora, where you can experience an authentic journey into the past through virtual reality glasses that allow you to see and experience what these spaces were like during the classical period. Finally we will return to Roses to the hotel for dinner and lodging.
April 13 – Roses – Pic de l’Àliga
Technical data: 10.20 km – Slopes + 530 / -530 5h15 ‘
After breakfast departure on foot to make a circular route that will take us to the highest point of all the stages; the Eagle Peak, where we can have spectacular 360º views. We will see the Pyrenees, the Alta Garrotxa, the Natural Park of the Creus Park, the Albera and much of the Costa Brava. Surely the most rewarding stage on a visual level. We will have lunch at the hotel and end of our tour. The people who have come with AVE move to Figueres.
The trip includes
