Details The Estanys de la Jonquera area has a special charm; between closed cork oaks and ponds full of life we see dolmens, menhirs and cromlechs.

This wetland is included in the area of the PEIN “Estanys de la Jonquera” and in the area of the Natura 2000 Network ES5120009 “Basses de l’Albera”.

The whole of this area of the PEIN and an adjacent area of pastures and wet meadows were declared a Wildlife Nature Reserve in 1996, with an area of 68.5 hectares, by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
