Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park
Most of the Montgrí, Medes and Baix Ter Natural Park belongs to the Baix Empordà, 4% extending through the municipality of l’Escala (Alt Empordà). The presence of a landscape formed with cliffs, coves and beaches that go into a seabed of undoubted ecological value, a mountainous mass that rises between the alluvial plains of the Baix and Alt Empordà and the Aiguamolls which forms the river Ter when it flows into the bay of Pals, make the Natural Park of Montgrí, the Medes Islands and Baix Ter a unique place in Catalonia.
