Gutina Dolmen

This is a granite stone passage tomb built on a gentle slope. It has been documented since the 19th century, first by an unnamed French citizen in 1866, and later by Josep Antoni de Nouvilas. However, the first to publish information on the tomb was Antoni Balmanya in 1879. The first archaeological excavation was conducted in 1923. It was excavated again in 1971 and between 1982 and 1987. Several artifacts were excavated, including a fully reconstructed bell-shaped vase, and a circular fragment of a smooth flint geometric microlith, found during the excavation of 1982. Based on its architectural style, Tarrús (2002) dates the dolmen to the first phase of the Empordà – Rosselló passage tombs, that is, the first half of the 4th millennium BC. The dolmen was repaired in 1985.
