The village of Vilafant is spread throughout the land, forming three residential areas. The old quarter comprises the remains of the old medieval village and the suburbs that were built later. This village also encompasses: the Parc de Vilafant, the latest building development in the old centre; Les Forques, a residential development that started in 1962, to the south-east of the municipality and that borders the municipal area of Figueres; El Camp dels Enginyers, Les Closes d’en Clarà and Les Arengades: residential developments located to the northeast and also close to Figueres, built in the early 60s.
Annexed to it is Palol Sabaldòria, an archaeological cluster comprising the pre-Romanesque Sant Miquel church, a medieval castle, a country house and Iberian and Roman remains.
The Can Massanet holm oak is a monumental tree that grows near the 18th century country house and measures 12 m tall, around 6 m around with a diameter of 1.5 m at the base. The spring rises up under the tree.
