On the outskirts of the town of Darnius is the viewpoint of the Serrat del Sentinella. From there we have an excellent panoramic view. In the foreground we can see the entire Darnius-Boadella reservoir. In the background there are several mountains called the Aspres de l’Empordà, of various heights and reliefs. At the top you can see the sanctuary of La Salut de Terrades and the Puig de les Escaules. Of particular note are the extensive areas of holm oak groves, of which cork has been mined over the last few centuries. On the other hand, the construction of the reservoir has also led to the consolidation of leisure and sports activities that have provided dynamism to the local economy.
