Castell Destorrent

Castell Destorrent, a historical gem near the town of Llers. This castle, once owned by Arnau de Cabrera, was obtained through his marriage in the 13th century to Berenguera des Torrent, the granddaughter of Arnau Roig de Llers.

According to the will of Jordi Assalit (Aixelit) from the year 1488, this fortress came under the jurisdiction of the poor hospital of Llers and was formerly known as “d’en Roig.” The castle took the name Destorrent from the title held by its lords.

Situated above and to the west and north of the two known springs named Pouet and d’en Jordi Aixelit, who was also the lord of the same, Castell Destorrent holds stories and legends from bygone eras. In later stages, the property passed into the hands of Joan Bayés, formerly known as Hospital nou. Explore with us this historical relic and uncover the mysteries surrounding Castell Destorrent.
