The Sant Vicenç parish church
18th century. It stands at the highest point of Cabanes’ old quarter. The building has one nave with a transept, dome and chevet that dates back to the 18th century. Building work on the church started in 1803 and was completed in 1818. A magnificent 16th century baptismal font can be seen inside.
The medieval tower
The tower is the only vestige that remains of the former castle. It is a Romanesque-style cylindrical tower that stands 10 m tall with walls that are 2.60 metres thick and is very well conserved. Cabanes was a walled enclosure and some remains can still be seen inside and in the courtyards of some of the houses. Parts of the old wall and one of the entry gates to the old walled village have been discovered.
Sant Feliu de Cadins monastery
It is thought that the Cistercian-style Sant Feliu de Cadins monastery and the church were founded by templar knights, despite the fact that this belief is not documented. The gothic building that we can currently see was built at the end of the 13th century. The church stands 1 km south of Cabanes and is the barn for the Sant Feliu farmhouse.
