Mas Vida – is a small winery located in Cistella – Alt Empordà.
Our wines come from the vineyards surrounding the small hill that dominates the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Vida, built in the early seventeenth century, in the center of a vast panorama caressed by the north wind.
The crops are harvested and selected by hand at optimum maturity indicating the winemaker who runs the farm and fermented at low and controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks in order to extract maximum color and tannin wines and maintain the aroma of fruit and spices.
The grapes are pressed very lightly and once finished the whole process, red wines are aged in oak barrels Allier for two years and as for whites, is appropriate in certain cases to ferment in new American oak barrels for a short space of time in order to provide them with a mild taste of wood, which does not mask its aromas of fresh citrus fruit.
Mas Vida developed a extra virgin olive oil from its top four thousand olive trees Picual, Manzanilla, Arbequina and Argudell. The olives are harvested from veraison, at the right moment of maturation, by a mechanical system to prevent any fruit from touching the ground, once crushed and subjected to slight pressure cold one extraordinary oil exceptional organoleptic characteristics is obtained smell, color and flavor.
